ATHABASCAN EDUCATOR JEANNEMARIE CRUMB BORN

Jeannemarie, born in Fairbanks, Alaska (AK), attended local public schools before graduating from the University of AK Fairbanks, receiving a master’s degree from Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Doctorate in Educational Administration from the University of Southern California. After working with the Fairbanks Native Association, AK Federation of Natives, and AK Native Foundation, Crumb became President/Executive Director of the Cook Inlet Native Association (now the Southcentral Foundation) and Health Policy Specialist with the AK Native Health Board. She also served as Project Coordinator, AK Rural Teacher Training Corps, and on the AK Governor’s Council on Career & Vocational Education. In 1990, Crumb ran as the Green Party candidate for Lt. Governor. She is a certified energy healer. Honors: Listed in Who’s Who of American Women (1989-1990 edition) & Notable AK Women (AK Commission on the Status of Women); and induction into the AK Women’s Hall of Fame (2019).
