TSILHQOT’IN FILMMAKER TREVOR MACK BORN

Mack, born in Vancouver (Van.), British Columbia (BC) started at age 15 editing Xbox video game footage into montages before co-founding the freelance videography group ‘Viral Design.’ From 2012-19, Mack, after collaborating with noted Indigenous filmmakers, produced short films beginning with The Blanketing (2013), followed by Clouds of Autumn (2015), and In the Valley of Wild Horses (2018). Clouds of Autumn won several awards. His debut feature-length film, Portraits from a Fire, won: Best Feature Film, Edmonton International (Int’l) Film Festival (FF); Best BC Film & BC Emerging Filmmaker Award, Van. Int’l FF; Best Director, American Indian FF; Best Script, Canada China Int’l FF; Kevin Tierney Emerging Producer, Indiescreen, and Leo Awards; Best Picture, Direction, Cinematography, Score & Editing; Best Picture & One to Watch, Van. Film Critics Circle; Best Feature Film, Shining Mountains FF. He competed in the Canadian tour of the Red Bull Crashed Ice World Championships from 2011 to 2015.
