LAKOTA ACTOR ZAHN TOKIYA-KU McCLARNON BORN

Zahn was born in Denver, Colorado, the son of a Hunkpapa Lakota mother. After growing up in multiple Midwest states, McClarnon graduated from Omaha Central High School in 1986. Getting his start in a production of Jesus Christ Superstar in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Zahn moved to Los Angeles in the early 1990s. Following brief appearances in Baywatch, Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Dangerous Minds, and Chicago Hope, he appeared in the following: Into the West (miniseries, TNT, 2005); Not Forgotten and Repo Chick (films, 2009); Resolution (horror film, 2013); The Red Road (series, SundanceTV); Longmire (series, A&E and later Netflix, 2012-17); Fargo (series, 2015); Timeless (series, 2017); The Son (series, AMC, 2017-19); Westworld (series, HBO, 2018 & 2022); Doctor Sleep (film, 2019); Reservation Dogs (series, 2021-23); and Dark Winds (miniseries, 2022– ). McClarnon’s middle name, Tokiya-ku, loosely translates to mean “first one to come.”
