NATIVE HAWAIIAN CHAMPION SURFER COCO HO BORN

Coco Malia Camille Hapaikekoa Ho was born in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her father and uncle were also championship surfers. At age 7, Coco learned to surf in order to impress her older brother. “My brother’s one of the most innovative surfers around, and I wanted to be just like him.” She earned her first sponsorship at age 8, qualified for the Association of Surfing Professionals Women’s World Tour at age 17, was Rookie of the Year in 2009, and took 1st place in the 2011 World Qualifying Series. From 2010-12 she was voted a top-3 fan favorite in Surfer magazine’s Surfer Poll. Coco also regularly volunteers for kid-supporting charities like the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaii. Coco has appeared in several films and continues to surf competitively. She is the face for Volcom Clothing and lifestyle brand.
